A family is seeking a calm and fun Housekeeper/Nanny who can contribute to their positive and vibrant household 3 days a week. The family with four children, aged 18, 14, 13, and 11, is located near Ledbury, Herefordshire.
This role has the opportunity for more hours depending on the family's needs, potentially taking the role from part-time to full-time. The position focuses on assisting the family with the day-to-day running of their busy household, including school pickups, meal preparation, light housekeeping duties, and supporting the children during holidays with their hobbies.
The Housekeeper/Nanny will work closely with the parents to coordinate school collections from Worcester and Ledbury on a daily basis, adapting to the family’s needs and schedules as required. The family is seeking someone who has a good understanding of working with children and young people with physical and cognitive impairments to support the children in developing independence and confidence. The two eldest children enjoy visiting their two horses at a nearby stable. The eldest is very independent and remains at home during the day, engaging in her hobbies, which include writing.
The Housekeeper/Nanny will be responsible for light housekeeping duties, prioritizing the health and wellbeing of the family while acknowledging the children’s individual needs respectfully. The successful candidate will be patient, empathic, and knowledgeable when it comes to working with secondary school-aged children, with the ability to provide the children with choices.
The family will be moving to a five-bedroom property in the Herefordshire countryside at the end of January. The parents work from home in a separate building, allowing the Housekeeper/Nanny to take charge of the home and use great initiative to complete domestic tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience with dogs and horses, along with strong communication skills. Duties will include light housekeeping tasks such as tidying, cleaning bathrooms, laundry, vacuuming, mopping, and light dusting. The family enjoys listening to music, singing, and dancing.
