We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and team-oriented individual to appoint into the post of Social Work Support Officer. As part of a busy social work team, you will provide essential administration support to Social Workers in the Looked After Children service.
You will need to be an experienced administrator with strong administration skills which includes having a working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, databases, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
The successful candidate will also need to be highly organised, have excellent time management skills, be able to work towards and meet deadlines, and build excellent interpersonal relationships with colleagues and service users alike.
This role will be the first point of contact for families, carers, and partner agencies, and so the ideal candidate will be able to manage difficult conversations tactfully, respectfully, and effectively over the telephone and occasionally in person. Therefore, a successful candidate will need excellent listening, recording, and typing skills to record information accurately onto our internal database system (Mosaic). In addition to the above, the successful applicant will also be required to minute-take complex meetings.
In return, we can offer a supportive, stable, and friendly team environment with opportunities for further development, networking, and training.
This role is an administration/office-based post; however, there may be a requirement for limited travel on occasion, and so a driving licence would be advantageous.
If you would like to apply for this post as a secondment, you will need to have your line manager’s consent.
Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
