We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our multi-disciplinary Public Health Division as a Public Health Programme Officer in the Governance team. Our Public Health team is part of the largest local authority in the country, working with one of the most globally diverse and youngest populations in Europe. The Public Health Division is leading work that contributes to Birmingham being a great city that enables people to live healthy and active lives.

Governance forms part of the Knowledge, Evidence and Governance (KEG) team in Public Health. The Governance team ensures that the Public Health Division complies with legal requirements regarding data and information governance. The Governance team supports the strategic and operational development of Public Health's statutory functions, including the Health and Wellbeing Board, Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy, Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment, and the Director of Public Health Annual Report.
The Role
The Public Health Programme Officer will support the Public Health Senior Programme Officer with the strategic and operational development of the Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy and the delivery of the Director of Public Health Annual Report. They will also assist the Service Lead with coordinating Health and Wellbeing Board meetings, working across the Public Health Division and with external partners. The role will include monitoring progress against associated strategies and identifying areas for collaboration.
The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic individual with key skills that can be applied to support understanding and address the city's public health challenges.
