Speyside Vets in Aberlouer & Fochabers are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team.
Working in various capacities within your role and depending on which shift you are covering, you will be involved in all aspects of nursing. The early nurse will assist with surgeries between 9:00am and 10:00am, then be second to the late nurse and help the vet with diagnostics such as bloods, radiographs, ultrasound scans, discharge in-patients, and conduct afternoon nurse consultations.
The late nurse will take over as the surgical nurse when they arrive at 10:15am. Surgeries range from routine neutering and dentistry to orthopaedics. They will help the vet with diagnostics and cover nurse appointments during evening surgery as necessary.
Both nurses have the usual responsibilities of ordering drugs, consumables, and equipment as necessary. The shifts are swapped weekly to ensure each nurse attains adequate opportunities.
Rota
We can be flexible regarding days of work, with either a Wednesday to Friday (22.5 hours) shift pattern or full-time Monday to Friday (37.5 hours) with 1 in 4 Saturdays (9:00am till 12:00pm). About Us
Both surgeries are modern and fully equipped to a high standard, with a varied caseload including orthopaedics and daily nurse appointments. We have 6 FTE vets, 5 RVNs, 1 SVN, 1 PM, and 5 support staff. We have a wide range of ages and experience within our collaborative team and encourage clinical discussions with all members of staff. Career development is encouraged. We have great clients, most of whom have been with us for years, and we aim to give them the best possible care.
Location
Speyside itself is a great location, an area of outstanding beauty bordering the Cairngorm National Park (ski centres, hill walking, and mountain biking) and the Moray Firth coast (surfing, paddle boarding, and breathtaking beaches). The villages, which both have excellent schools, are close to the city of Elgin, with the larger cities of Aberdeen and Inverness (airports, theatres, and shopping) within an hour.
