Rosemary Ward is a 33 bedded community assessment bed unit situated within Newmarket Hospital in Newmarket around fourteen miles away from West Suffolk Hospital.
The unit is part of West Suffolk Hospital NHS foundation trust and the services provided there are hosted by West Suffolk Hospital.
We are looking to recruit full and part time registered nurses to join our team on Rosemary Ward at Newmarket Hospital and especially keen to hear from nurses wishing to work both day and night shifts.
The unit is a dynamic nurse and therapy led unit where you would work as part of a highly supportive multi-disciplinary team.
We pride ourselves on providing compassionate holistic care to all our patients, putting our patients needs and wishes at the heart of everything we do.
We provide in patient facilities in a non-acute environment offering reablement and further assessment. Our aim is to promote and return our patients to independence after acute illness, to ensure successful discharge with the appropriate support for them to continue to live as independently as they are able and for as long as they are able.
Main duties of the job
As a registered nurse on Rosemary Ward you will be part of the nursing team, taking responsibility for the care of a group of patients. You will work with the multidisciplinary team, patients, and their families to plan effective and appropriate discharges.
You will use your problem-solving skills alongside clinical decision-making.
It is a varied job role where no two days are the same; you will need good organisational and communication skills and be keen to integrate into a highly supportive multi-disciplinary team.

Job responsibilities
1. Assesses nursing care to be delivered. Plans, prioritises and supervises care within an allocated time frame.
2. Delegates activities to team members appropriately.
3. Organises and deploys staff according to workload, ensuring appropriate staff cover and reporting any deficiencies to Ward/Clinical Manager.
4. Supervises the delivery of care to maintain agreed standards.
5. Identifies problems and risks, decides on appropriate actions via a structured approach and reports promptly to other staff on matters requiring their input.
6. Works collaboratively with the inter-professional team and other staff on the ward/department and with increasing experience coordinates care given by the inter-professional team and other staff on the ward/department.
7. Ensures all emergencies, untoward incidents, complaints and grievances are responded to and reported in accordance with Trust Policies.
8. Is fully conversant with all policies and procedures, including Major Accident, Resuscitation, Fire, Health and Safety, and acts within them.
9. Contributes to the effective and efficient use of resources, including safe use, checking, maintenance and storage of equipment.
10. Works collaboratively with the patient Flow Team in relation to decisions on patient flow issues.
11. Reviews and evaluates the effectiveness of nursing care for area of responsibility for the shift. Delivers clear, concise records and handover.
12. Formally monitors quality of care for area of responsibility.
13. Manages own time and responds to unexpected demands in a professional manner.

* NMC Registration
