Rate of Pay : 11.44 per hour

A typical day in the life of a Commis Chef:
* Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients according to recipes or as directed by the Head Chef.
* Support the kitchen team in cooking and plating dishes, ensuring that they meet Bannatyne's high standards for presentation and taste.
* Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to all food hygiene and safety regulations. This includes washing dishes, cleaning equipment, and ensuring that all kitchen areas are kept tidy.
* Assist in monitoring and managing stock levels, including receiving deliveries, checking for quality and quantity, and storing items properly.
* Work closely with the Head Chef and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen, particularly during peak times.
* Take advantage of training and development opportunities to enhance your culinary skills and knowledge.
* Contribute to a positive dining experience for Bannatyne's members and guests by consistently delivering high-quality food and service.
What we are looking for:
* L2 Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate.
* Understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.
* Ability to follow instructions and work under pressure.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Strong attention to detail and a passion for cooking.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* The ability to establish rapport, build trust and demonstrate credibility.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
It would be beneficial if you had basic culinary skills or a certificate in the relevant field. It would also be advantageous if you had previous experience in a kitchen environment.
