The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As an HR Manager based at our Aycliffe plant, with responsibility for two additional plants located in Skelmersdale and Bangor, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here you will make an impact by:
1. Carrying out operational and compliance driven HR activities for 3 manufacturing sites and supporting the UK functional organisation within the Manufacturing and Supply Chain Organisation. All sites have a unionised production workforce.
2. Partnering with Plant Leadership teams on achieving site goals whilst maintaining positive and efficient employee/industrial relations contributing to the success of the overall organisation.
3. Coordinating with people managers in all employee-related issues including employee investigations, absence issues, counselling, grievance, and discipline etc.
4. Liaising with Leadership in all negotiations such as shift changes, redundancy processes and other general employee-impacting changes.
5. Supporting the deployment of Global HR changes and Plant HR priorities through the organisation
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:
6. CIPD qualified
7. Several years’ experience in HR with a focus on operational HR functions, ideally within Manufacturing or Logistics
8. Operating as member of a Senior Leadership Team with the ability to work with people at all levels, balancing employee needs, concerns and business priorities.
9. Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills, being able to think critically, make sound decisions and coach leaders to do the same.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
10. A degree in a relevant field would be strongly preferred.
11. Experience within a multi-national, matrix organisation.
12. Experience working in a highly complex and ever-changing labour environment.
13. Proven ability to handle ambiguity and navigate uncertainty.
14. Excellent communication skills, with a talent for simplifying complex concepts and tailoring messages to diverse audiences
Work Location: The position is located on-site at 3M Aycliffe with 1 day per week to be spent at the 3M Skelmersdale plant. Occasion travel to 3M Bangor, Northern Ireland.
Travel: 20% domestic
