Job summary Band 7 Highly Specialist Neuro Occupational Therapist: Community Sutton, SW London An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic & self-motivated specialist OT with Neuro experience to join the Community neuro therapy service as the OT lead. This post offers the successful candidate the opportunity to work in a leadership role including clinical and managerial duties & service development. You would work as part of a Community therapy MDT who truly support each other & work together towards our vision of 'Investing in our patient community, empowering them to live well'. The team work holistically, towards patient led goals, providing rehab & intervention to maximise patient's potential, based on their clinical need. This requires us to be patient centred & specialists within our field. Using evidence-based practice & investing in our staff, so they have the knowledge, skills & training to provide this, whilst utilising each other's expertise & our rehabilitation assistants to maximise our intervention.We strive to constantly improve our service & contributions from all staff are highly valued Visits take place in patients' homes, care homes & clinics, so staff have to travel around the borough& work autonomously. The service core hours are Mon-Fri 08:30-16:30. Many of the team work part time/ flexibly; and remote work to some degree. As a team we find it important to come together regularly for clinical support/supervision, development, communication etc. Main duties of the job The Community Neuro therapy & Adult Speech & Language therapy service is a Multi-disciplinary team offering specialist, comprehensive assessment & intervention.We work with adults in the Sutton area of South West London who have Neurological conditions. We have various pathways to deliver intervention to meet our patients' needs, including Stroke Early Supported Discharge and other complex Neuro conditions, such as PD, MS and MND.The needs of our patients vary widely & our services offer rehabilitation, enablement & disability management interventions dependant on the patients' needs & goals.Therapists are expected to work flexibility across the pathways. The post holder will be the team & clinical lead for the OT's across the Community Neuro therapy service. They will be responsible for provision of a comprehensive and highly specialist community Neuro occupational therapy service, ensuring the needs of the clients are identified and met within appropriate timeframes. They will promote the independence of clients, assisting them to maintain/or improve their own physical, psychological and social wellbeing. The post holder will be responsible for clinically leading a team of occupational therapists and contributing to service development and management across all pathways. They will ensure that the service is timely, effective, adaptable and resilient, and create innovative solutions to enhance the client experience.
