Fabricator / Welder
Due to expansion and growth, a permanent position has arisen for a workshop Welder/Fabricator. Please note that the main base for this role will be Luton.
The job role:
Fabrication and Welding of Handrails, staircases, balustrades & structural steel in the workshop.
Working hours:
Dayshift: 07:00 to 4:30 Monday to Friday + Overtime.
Rate of Pay: £21 per hour + enhanced rates for overtime.
Primary Objectives:
Welding and fabrication in a workshop setting.
Working knowledge of Architectural/Structural steelwork works and standards.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Time served welder/fabricator. Must be conscientious in approach to welding and fabrication to ensure high standards and quality.
- Working knowledge of Architectural/Structural steelwork fabrication works and standards.
- Act with honesty, integrity and accountability.
- Ability to work well in a team.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
An NC/HNC in welding/fabrication preferred but not essential; at least 4 years' experience in the above role.
Broad knowledge of welding and fabrication operation and procedures as required for the role and may include:
- Manual Metal Arc (MMA)
- Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG)
- Metal Active/Metal Inert Gas (MAG/MIG)
- Gas Shielded Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)
- Oxy-Acetylene cutting/welding
- Machine/workshop power tools and machinery.
Experienced working with a variety of materials including mild steel, austenitic stainless steel, and aluminium.
