Director of Employee Relations and Policy The University is seeking a strategic leader in employee relations (ER) with experience in large, complex and unionised settings. Applicants should have a successful track record in leading collective negotiation, consultation and communication with trade unions, in leading a team in managing sensitive and complex cases, and in overseeing the development and prioritisation of progressive employment policies. The Director of ER & Policy will lead collective trade union relations in both formal negotiations and consultation fora as well as in maintaining productive informal communications channels with our recognised trade unions and their officers. The role holder is responsible for leading a team in the management of formal casework and informal processes to ensure successful and timely resolution, including use of early and alternative disputes resolution methods. They will also lead a small team in the development, review and prioritisation of employment policy aligned to our strategic goals. The successful candidate will have the expertise to support a culture where the University’s treatment of employees is fair, respectful, and in accordance with our policies and values. They will also lead the development of ER Strategy, to enable the University to deliver a proactive service, providing managers and staff with the tools and support to achieve a positive employee relations environment.
