Role
The role of the Quality Engineer is to provide specialist guidance and support to the Quality Function whilst ensuring that the Business Unit remains compliant to the local Quality Business Management System
Ability to critique and tailor issues in reports/presentations
Carry out assessments IAW schedule
Ability to carry out complex Quality activities in SQEP area
Carry out routine and non-routine inspection work as required
Key Responsibilities:
Implementing and maintaining ISO 9001/EN9100 standards
Serving as a Subject Matter Expert within the Quality discipline
Ensuring compliance with Business Management Systems and Operational Assurance processes
Managing product safety and understanding export requirements, including ITAR
Leading Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies
Interpreting specifications, procedures, and contract requirements
Managing effective stakeholder relationships, including customer interactions
Job Requirements:
Experience in Quality Engineering and Field Engineering within the defence sector
Understanding and application of ISO 9001/EN9100 standards
Knowledge of Business Management Systems and Operational Assurance processes
Export requirements knowledge such as ITAR
Ability to interpret specifications and contract requirements
Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis methodologies such as Fishbone, 5 Why, and Six Sigma
Effective action management and verification skills
Relevant qualifications such as PCN Level 2 in NDT, ICORR or NACE Level 2, CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2, and audit capabilities to ISO 9001:2015 or AS 9100
Security Level: BPSS + SC + Subject to ITAR and UK eyes only
This role will require the person to hold full Security Clearance (SC) prior to working onsite. You will need to obtain a BPSS check as part of this process. You must currently hold or be eligible and willing to obtain SC. In addition, this role involves direct and/or indirect access to ITAR Material which means there are restriction.
