Head of Property
Role Description
My client, an established specialist insurance broker responsible for servicing a worldwide portfolio of UK and International clients with a focus on placing complex risk and other speciality insurance with insurers in all major markets, including Lloyd’s of London.
They are currently looking for a permanent full-time Head of Property to join our rapidly growing business. This role reports directly to the CEO.
The role is based in London, but they can be flexible on this. The successful candidate will have at least 7 years of experience in the Lloyd’s and international insurance markets, particularly in the US, and will have a comprehensive knowledge of property placements.
Key activities and responsibilities include:
• Broking and producing deals
• Developing business development plans to grow our international business
• Working with the senior management team to drive strategy
• Identifying prospects and building a sales pipeline
• Travelling internationally to meet with producing brokers and clients to generate new business and enhance existing relationships
• Managing a team
Desirable skills and qualifications:
• 7 years-plus of proven experience as a producing and placing broker in the property lines sector of Lloyd’s and the London markets
• Strong relationships with all key underwriters in the relevant sectors
• Excellent product knowledge
• Proven track record of successful team collaboration
• Experience of managing and developing a team

• Outgoing and engaging person who has the gravitas and confidence in communicating with and influencing clients and senior management
• A personal style with integrity which engenders confidence in others and the ability to build effective relationships internally and externally and to build business
• An ambitious self-starter who can work with our other teams to develop cross-product business opportunities
• Enthusiasm for building and developing the business from a management level
• Strong work and service ethics to achieve desired outputs working in a fast-paced environment
• Open, engaging, approachable, and collaborative with a down-to-earth personality and a sense of personal ownership to achieve results and meet deadlines
• Adaptable, methodical, versatile with a keen eye for attention to detail and accuracy
Compensation package:
