Main duties of the job
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE JOB
Stores Lifting boxes up to 10kg, picking and packing ward orders, using pallet pump truck, bending and reaching.
Will be required to walk between different departments within Pharmacy and across the Hospital on a daily basis to deliver and collect items
Must have the ability to drive or use transport to travel to other hospitals or offsite training sessions as required
Scope and range
This role supports and is part of the Pharmacy Team serving The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust including St. Margarets Hospital in Epping, Herts and Essex Hospital in Bishops Stortford, Saffron Walden Hospital and associated clinics.
You will be required to work with and support staff working in the pharmacy stores department to:- Apply skills and knowledge to a range of activities concerned with top-up services, receipt of delivery and supply to the wards.
Work with and support the Pharmacy Stores Supervisor in the training of Rotational staff
Maintain a clean and tidy working environment in compliance with the MHRA regulations and Wholesaler dealer licence.

Job description
Role and Responsibilities:
Assisting Pharmacy Stores Supervisor, deputize when needed, support training, and manage Drug Alerts.
Providing aid to Pharmacy Technicians with drug identification, stock updates, and telephone enquiries.
Operating automated systems, participate in ward top-ups, dispose of pharmaceuticals, and answer store queries.
Maintain stock control, follow SOPs, keep records, and manage housekeeping tasks.
Assist with waste management and support the movement of medicines across the hospital.
Follow health and safety standards, report incidents, handle hazardous chemicals, and attend mandatory training.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Good Standard of basic education & 3 GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths & English
Good Communication Skills, both written and oral.
The ability to complete an NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
Good team player, with ability to work in a multidisciplinary team & Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job
Must have the ability to drive or use transport to travel to other hospitals or offsite training sessions as required
