Registered Manager - Residential Adolescent Care
Leader Group is thrilled to partner with a residential adolescent care provider in the search for an exceptional Registered Manager to lead their new children's home in Weston-Super-Mare.
Location: Weston-Super-Mare
Salary: £42,717.17 per year, with potential to earn up to £50,017.17 through bonuses
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Registered Manager to oversee the operation of our brand-new, four-bed children's home nestled in a rural area. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate leader to make a lasting impact on young people's lives by creating a nurturing, supportive, and enriching living environment. You will lead a team of 10-12 staff members, ensuring high standards of care, smooth home management, and exceptional support for each young person in residence. This role involves strategic and operational responsibilities, requiring you to manage administrative tasks, produce and monitor care plans, meet deadlines, and represent the organisation positively in the community.
Key Responsibilities
1. Care Delivery: Ensure the home provides a safe, positive, and structured living environment.
2. Staff Management: Lead, motivate, and develop staff, fostering an open and proactive team culture.
3. Administrative Oversight: Manage home operations, maintain accurate records, and meet regulatory standards.
4. Community Engagement: Represent the organisation professionally to external agencies and within the community.
5. Compliance: Maintain knowledge of Ofsted inspection criteria, safeguarding protocols, and child protection legislation.
Qualifications & Experience
1. Social Work Qualification: QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (Children and Young People) or equivalent.
2. Experience: At least 2 years of recent experience in a role related to residential child care, with 1 year of staff supervision.
3. Knowledge: Familiarity with children's home legislation, Ofsted inspection standards, and safeguarding protocols.
4. Driving Requirements: Valid manual driving license, personal vehicle with business insurance (proof required), and ability to handle on-call duties (approx. twice a month).

2. Occupancy Bonus: £175 per child beyond the first (up to £525/month for a full home)
3. Ofsted Bonuses: £500 for a "Good" rating, £1000 for "Outstanding"
4. Pension & Sick Pay: Non-contributory pension (9% employer contribution) and enhanced sick pay after 6 months
5. On-Call Payments: £10/day (Mon-Fri), £50 (Sat-Sun)
