Main Duties are:
* Supporting class Co-tutor and lecturer with the preparation of resources to meet the personalized learning intentions of allocated students.
* Providing 1:1 support under supervision for the delivery of skills based learning.
* To use a range of communication strategies to support communication with students with complex needs.
* To support the social and emotional needs of young people
* Work closely with class lecturer to report on progress using an evidence based approach
To be successful in this role you will:
* Be able to build and maintain successful relationships with students; treating them consistently with respect and consideration
* Promote and reinforce student’s self-esteem, social development and independence, encouraging students to interact with others and engage in activities.
* Support students’ in or outside the classroom throughout the school day, in a range of subjects and activities
* Assist and support students with therapy needs as directed by the Therapists, including Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy
* To support students’ learning in the wider curriculum, this may include visits and trips out of school as required.
* Be flexible, adaptable and work collaboratively with colleagues
* Have a compassionate nature, with a real desire to help others
