Personal Assistant
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a transgender woman with a visual impairment living in Pengam Green area. My interests include fashion, photography, gaming and astronomy.
I am outgoing, friendly and chatty. I enjoy working with people to overcome challenges together. I live with my partners guide dog and two cats.
PURPOSE OF JOB
To support me in the community and support me and my family.
PLACE OF WORK
In my home and out in the community.
HOURS OF WORK
24.5 hours weekly to be shared between 2 personal assistants.
7x45mins to support me with my personal care.
7x 1 hours to support with childcare and overall safety such as checking if the toys are clean, ensuring the house environment is safe.
3x45mins on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to support to transport my child safely to nursery. 7:30am start.
5 hours on Friday 8am-1pm to assist me with going out and accessing the community with my child.
5 hours on Saturday 8am-1pm to support me with food shopping and batch cooking.
RATE OF PAY
£14.00 an hour
TASKS INVOLVED
Supporting me with dressing and personal care- ensuring that my outfit matches and my makeup looks tidy.
Ensuring that my surroundings are safe and keeping me informed.
Meal preparation
Collection of prescriptions when necessary
Take me to my hospital appointments when necessary
Household duties- ensuring the house is tidy and safe. Keeping an eye out on essential tasks
Supporting me in taking my son to his nursery safely as well as helping me change his nappies.
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
Someone who is comfortable with visual impairment.
Someone who is honest and can deliver verbal information effectively.
Someone who is reliable.
Someone who is trustworthy and caring.
Someone who is proactive and can take initiative.
Beneficial to have experience with children.
Full UK licence with a car preferred.
Someone with a sufficient level of understanding towards transgender people.
Must be comfortable around animals in case of vet appointments. 2 cats and a dog at the property.
ABOUT THE JOB
Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probation period will be necessary in the first instance. Wages will be paid 4 weekly. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
