Environmental Scientist Level II
Role Context:
The Environmental Officer will report to the Environmental Management and Monitoring Lead.
You'll be:
* Site environmental management and compliance
* Site audits and audit reporting
* Management plans (develop/review), e.g., develops or provides inputs to the development of the construction environmental management plans as required
* Toolbox talks prep and present
* Document control
* Impacts and aspects register updates
* Identification of permitting requirements through focal point roles
* Liaises daily with the Contractor’s site personnel, effectively providing guidance regarding compliance requirements and corrective actions.
* Ensures all required samplings/testing are done as required
* Assists in the review and close out of rectifications arising from daily inspections, audits, or compliance review process.
* Liaises with immediate supervisor, highlighting areas of concern.
You'll have:
* Degree in environmental sciences
* Environmental experience in the mining and/or construction industry
* Experience in environmental management
* Ability to understand and explain all project environmental requirements
* Physical ability and enthusiasm to work on site and conduct inspections
* Effective communication and interaction with construction crews in the field and management teams
* Concise report writing on a daily basis
