Position
An opportunity has arisen for an Imaging Assistant based at University Hospital Ayr.
What you will do:
The University Hospital Ayr is looking for an enthusiastic, caring and motivated individual to join our friendly team.
Applicants should have a general knowledge of the role of the department and experience within an x-ray setting would be advantageous.
You will support Radiologists and Radiographers to carry out their duties and assist them with all aspects of patient care. Experience in a caring role is essential as you will be dealing with patients some of whom may be seriously ill. You will undertake a mentally and physically demanding job. .

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
An SVQ level 2/3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is essential as is excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Good computing skills are also necessary as administration tasks are an essential part of the role.
They will be expected to support both the service and its staff in continuing to maintain and develop the highest standards of imaging. You will be involved in departmental audit activities. Our department actively promotes a positive culture of CPD.

The successful candidate will progress from Band 2 to Band 3 after completion of Health Care Support Workers Mandatory Induction Standards.
Hours: 37 hours per week
A flexible approach to work and the ability to respond to the ever changing demands on the service provided by the Medical Imaging Department is essential. Participation in the provision of a service 24/7, working out of hours, to include weekends, is required. There may be a high commitment to these duties in response to service needs. These duties will be rostered and will be worked over 7 days. You will also be able to demonstrate awareness of health and safety issues.
UK Driving Licence/Car Ownership:
Car licence/Car ownership is essential to this role.
