A new Project Support Officer vacancy has arisen in our fast-growing company. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our
Engineering Project team.
LOCATION: SKEGNESS, LINCOLNSHIRE WITH REGULAR ATTENDANCE AT THE PROJECT SITE
JOB TITLE: PROJECT SUPPORT OFFICER
JOB TYPE: FULL TIME, PERMANENT
HOURS OF WORK: MONDAY TO FRIDAY 9.00AM TO 5.00PM
SALARY: £28,000 - £32,000 (DEPENDENT ON EXPERIENCE)
Introduction
This is an exciting opportunity to join a small team who will be responsible for developing and building an operationally carbon
zero cleanroom laundry – a world first – due to be operational in 2027. This is a £15M greenfield project and the first phase of
a multi-phase campus site development, to be delivered over the next 10 to 15 years.
The ideal candidate will hold foundation project management qualifications and have experience working on major capital projects.
They will have strong organisational skills and instil discipline in project management behaviours and processes. They will have
the ability to contribute to project planning and delivery. They will relish engaging with the project team, internal
stakeholders and external parties (consultants, contractors, suppliers, agencies).
Job Role
Reporting to senior executives, work alongside the Project Leader and Project Engineer to deliver major capital projects safely,
on time, on budget and to agreed specifications. Take ownership of the project management systems as a foundation of project
success from concept to delivery and hand over.
The role will involve:
* Bringing a structured and disciplined approach to project management processes and behaviours.
* Contributing to the creation and administration of tools including time plans, cost plans, design records, risk management
files, change control and issue registers.
* Working within and supporting the facilitation of virtual teams, helping these groups to successfully deliver project outcomes.
* Playing a key role in communication and stakeholder engagement, including managing project data and preparing clear and concise
reports.
* Managing communication processes to ensure efficient, effective and timely communication with project team members, internal
stakeholders and external parties (consultants, contractors, suppliers, agencies).
* Administering project meetings to maximise value.
* Collaborating with key business functions, including Health and Safety and Quality, to understand project requirements and
ensure project management processes deliver against them.
* Championing project management best practice within the project team and the wider organisation.
The Ideal Candidate
* Degree level qualification in Project Management or similar subject, or equivalent experience.
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a Project Support Officer or in a similar role, ideally on major capital projects.
* Experience of project management software tools.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
* Keenness to learn new skills and grow through experience (project management, engineering and design, management and
leadership, etc.).
