The school is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their permanent staff from April 2025. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with special educational needs, under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO. Assist in the delivery of individual education plans (IEPs) and monitor progress. Support students with a range of learning, physical, and emotional needs, ensuring they can access the curriculum fully. Foster an inclusive, positive, and respectful classroom environment that promotes independence and confidence. Work collaboratively with other staff, including teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals, to meet the needs of students. Assist with the development and implementation of resources and strategies tailored to the needs of individual students. Requirements: Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within a special needs setting (or a strong desire to work in this area). A good understanding of special educational needs, including Autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents. Ability to adapt quickly to new situations and work effectively as part of a team. A positive, patient, and resilient attitude, with a passion for supporting children’s learning and development. A relevant qualification such as a Teaching Assistant Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) is desirable. A DBS check will be required for this position.
