ABOUT THE ROLE
They are looking for an Estimator to join the team due to winning further projects. This will be a geotechnical role where you will be looking after 6 or 7 different projects. These types of projects will include railway works, soil stabilisation on CP6 for Network Rail, piling projects, grouting on TransPennine routes, ground anchors, retaining walls, ground investigation and monitoring. This will be a varied role and you will be joining a small team so you won’t just be number crunching, you will need to be prepared to take an active role in the whole process. You will be coming up with ideas on the engineering side and will need to present these to the client. This role will be based out of the Guildford office and will be a hybrid role with 3 days in the office and 2 at home. This role will involve travelling to sites so you will need to have a driving licence.
REQUIREMENTS
To be considered for this position, you should have experience working as an Estimator for a UK-based major infrastructure contractor. Your work history should be stable, having worked at your previous companies for a number of years.
1. HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or other technically-related subject
2. Minimum 3 years’ experience in estimating practice with an understanding of Civil Engineering; especially water, wastewater, highways and groundworks.
3. Minimum 3 years’ on-site experience within a piling and geotechnical organisation
4. Excellent skills in estimating software such as Excel, Valesco, Causeway, Conquest or Candy.
5. Proven financial and commercial management skills
6. Good working knowledge of CESMM, HWMM, SMM7
7. Good working knowledge of NEC forms of Contract
