We are seeking an experienced Commercial Foundations Foreman to join our construction team in New Zealand. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of foundation work, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to specification. The company is looking to grow so progression within the leadership team for the right candidate is a priority. This is a hands-on role so a reasonable level of fitness is expected.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and coordinate foundation crews on construction sites
* Interpret blueprints, specifications, and project plans
* Ensure proper layout and excavation for foundations has been completed
* Oversee concrete pouring, form setting, and finishing operations
* Maintain quality control standards throughout foundation work
* Ensure compliance with New Zealand safety regulations and building codes
* Manage daily reporting and documentation
* Troubleshoot issues as they arise and implement solutions
Skills/Experience Required:
* 3+ years in a supervisory role within construction in New Zealand
* Strong knowledge of foundation systems, concrete work, and waterproofing
* Experience with footings, foundation walls, slabs, and related structures
* Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings
* Knowledge of WorkSafe NZ regulations and NZ Building Code requirements
* Strong communication and leadership skills
