About the role
This is an exciting opportunity where you will be responsible for establishing and leading the data capability across the Saria Food and Pharma businesses. The Master Data Architect role encompasses all aspects of data management, data quality, implementing the strategy, and data governance.
This is a key role which will involve collaborating with stakeholders at all levels globally to meet our data management strategy.
Responsibilities
* Develop and manage a corporate and business data management strategy for Saria Food and Pharma that is aligned with the business strategy
* Develop and help institute best practice, methodologies and standards with regard to master data, meta data, data quality, data governance, data structure, data architecture, and data security
* Collaborate with the business to define strategic data management direction for each business unit
* Support, specifically, the data aspects of business projects, logical and physical database design, including data modelling and semantic mapping
* Establish data ownership and stewardship across the business
* Lead the design of data, information, and integration to strengthen the impact of business information that will need to be available and shared consistently across Saria Food and Pharma. Output standard architecture documents for use by the BU. Designing the methods and tools to enable Saria Food and Pharma to realise the value from data and information using data integration and analytics models
* Influence information strategy: by partnering with business leadership, and through the rationalisation of the information value chain, provide strategic recommendations to maximize the value of information assets via their creation, access, and use
* Maximise value derived from data and analytics: Foster value creation using the organisation's data assets, as well as the external data ecosystem. This includes aiding value creation through data exploitation, envisioning data-enabled strategies, as well as enabling all forms of business outcomes through analytics, data and analytics governance, and enterprise information policy
* Enable effective data and analytics governance: Assist data and analytics leaders, and business and IT leadership in developing information governance processes and structures
* Conduct business information modelling: Create and manage business information models in all their forms, including conceptual models, relational database designs, message models and others
* Enable enterprise information management: Ensure that the architecture is used as a lens and a filter to identify, prioritise and execute the data and analytic initiatives with clear line of sight to enterprise strategies and business outcomes
* Secure data and analytic assets: Aid in the analysis of data and analytics security requirements and solutions, and work with the Head of Cyber Security to ensure that enterprise data and analytics assets are treated as a protected assets
* Improve EIM performance: Aid efforts to improve business performance through enterprise information solutions and capabilities, such as master data management (MDM), metadata management, analytics, content management, data integration, and related information management or information infrastructure components
* Implement measures to ensure data accuracy and accessibility
* Create a fluid, end-to-end vision for how data will flow through an organisation
* Identify and evaluate current data management technologies
About you
* Degree qualified within e.g. computer science, computer engineering, IT or equivalent is desirable
* Comprehensive experience within a Senior Data Architect/Data Architect role is essential
* Knowledgeable of architecture modelling and management: conceptual, logical and physical / frameworks (e.g. TOGAF)
* Accomplished in data modelling techniques and approaches, ideally within a retail business
* Extensive working knowledge of technologies and approaches to both integration and analytics, as well as the emerging domains of data science, machine learning, AI and cognitive
* Strong interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation along with leadership and analytical skills
* Excellent communication and influencing skills to effectively manager senior stakeholders and internal IT teams
* Commercial acumen and ability to analyse and represent business value and benefit
* Understanding of the political climate of the enterprise, and how to navigate the waters
* Ability to understand the long-term and short-term perspectives of situations
* Experience in logistics and of supply chain technologies would be beneficial
