Job Description
Here at Farleys Solicitors we’ve been practising legal common sense for over 60 years. Our roots are firmly based in Lancashire, having started our journey in Blackburn in 1958. We now have seven offices across Lancashire and Greater Manchester, 140 employees and offer a full range of legal services for individuals and businesses.
Our reputation and growth are based on how our legal services are delivered, combining our legal expertise with a down to earth approach and a focus on getting the job done for our clients.
What sets us apart as a firm is our people. A grown-up culture of hard working lawyers, but with a flexible approach to delivering a quality service to our clients within a genuinely well adjusted work/life balance environment.
The Role:
We have a small but highly successful Employment team here at Farleys Solicitors with a loyal client following, and due to anticipated growth we have an opportunity for an experienced employment solicitor to join our regional team and play a part in the continued success of our firm.
The successful candidate will have solid experience across a range of employment matters and the ability to demonstrate strong technical expertise, excellent client care and interpersonal skills.
Our team deal with both claimant and respondent work which would give anyone joining the team exposure to a wide variety of matters (we’re not expecting you to have experience across all areas, we can help with that). Also we would be happy for any team member to do their own tribunal advocacy, or instruct counsel if preferred.
The position could be based across any of our seven offices, dependent on the capability of the individual to work independently or for their need of supervision. You will need to have experience of working within employment law, and ideally at least 2 – 6 years PQE – although if you have more than this, please don’t let that stop you applying as we can accommodate a more senior individual.
The ideal candidate will:
* Be a qualified, practising solicitor or chartered legal executive with a passion for employment law
* Work comfortably in a fast-paced and deadline driven area of law
* Be organised, with a great work ethic and prepared to work within a busy department
* Be keen to build their profile and professional network, attending business development opportunities and networking events
In return, Farleys can offer excellent long-term prospects to develop your career amongst friendly and supportive colleagues. This role is a great opportunity to be a key part of the continued success of our employment team and the firm as a whole.
What we can offer you:
* Competitive salary commensurate with experience
* 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays
* Buy and sell annual leave
* An extra day’s annual leave, which can be taken as a wellbeing day or as a day off on your birthday
* Private medical insurance
* 4% pension contributions
* Healthcare cash plan
* Income protection
* Life cover
* Personalised benefits portal with a range of additional lifestyle and wellbeing benefits
