Job Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Southern Water’s growing Category Management discipline. Category Management at Southern Water is a strategic role with the opportunity to influence and shape Southern Water’s business model and supply chain strategies.
You will manage the development and implementation of the Digital category and sourcing strategies. The objective being to inform and influence strategies developed by the business areas and align category strategies to achieve value creation and minimise total cost of ownership for Southern Water.
Heading up the Digital Category an immediate key objective will be to develop the Digital Category Strategic documentation, reflecting the cross functional business needs and aligning with supply chain possibilities.
You will lead the Digital category team and work closely with the Corporate Business Services and Operational Services teams to develop and support the execution of strategic and tactical sourcing, negotiations, and contracting activities for the relevant categories and sub-categories, within regulated procurement best practice, compliant with the Utilities Contract Regulations (UCR).
About You
The ideal candidate will have experience of operational service procurement, have relevant qualifications (CIPS / Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field) and have significant experience working with leading-practice tools, techniques and processes covering category strategy development within the Digital arena.
Ideally you will also have experience of working in a regulated procurement environment. A great planner with robust project management capabilities, with confidence in leading a strategic purchasing team within a cross functional business which requires the soft skills to manage conflict resolution and objection handling using a range of approaches to influence at all levels.
