Job Description Overview We are searching for a committed Learning Support Assistant to work in a fantastic Special School in Brentwood. that supports pupils aged 5-19 with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Complex Needs and Physical Disabilities. The ideal Learning Support Assistant will have experience working with pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Complex Needs, and Physical Disabilities. This role requires empathy, patience, and the ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and parents to create a supportive and welcoming learning environment. Responsibilities Learning Support Assistants' responsibilities are: Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with MLD, Complex Needs, and Physical Disabilities; this will include providing Personal Care for pupils requiring it. Assist in the implementation of Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs). Promote inclusion and diversity within the school community. Support students during classroom activities, ensuring their needs are met and they are able to participate to the fullest extent possible. Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other support staff to provide feedback on student progress and any areas of concern. Foster independence and encourage social and emotional development within the student population. Requirements Any potential Learning Support Assistants must fit the following requirements: Must have an enhanced DBS certificate (Child&Adult Workforce) registered on the update service (If you do not have a current DBS, we will charge £52.20). Recent experience working with pupils with MLD, Complex Needs, and Physical Disabilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude. Relevant qualifications in education, special education, or related fields are desirable. Hours & Pay If successful, you will begin on a long-term supply role (at least 12-14 academic weeks) with a permanent contract potentially available for excellent performance. There is a highly competitive rate of pay which is £425-475 a week for working hours of 8.30am-3.30pm. Working days are Monday-Friday, term-time only.
