Role: Senior Fire Safety Consultant (High-Risk Buildings)

About the Role:
As a Senior Fire Safety Consultant, you will work in a field-based role from home. Given the geographical nature of the work, expect to spend at least two weeks per month away from home. Your primary responsibility will be conducting fire safety assessments on 11m+ occupied residential properties under the Developer Remediation Contract. This includes:
* Identifying and remediating defects.
* Reviewing existing documents.
* Recommending and performing surveys (Types 1, 2, 3, and 4).
* Creating initial reports and conducting routine inspections during third-party remedial works.
* Producing final reports to confirm the completion of remedial work.
About You:
We’re looking for someone with extensive experience in Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) and Fire Safety Assessments (FSAs), including fire door inspections and compartmentation surveys. Here’s what we value:
* Expertise in fire safety building regulations, British Standards, ACOPS, and industry guidance, including legacy documents (>1990).
* Strong IT skills, technical abilities, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
* Ability to read floor plans and determine required fire resistance per ADB.
* Excellent prioritisation, communication, and report-writing skills.
* Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment.
Desirable Qualifications:
* NVQ Level 3 certificates/diplomas in Fire Risk Assessment.
* Membership in organisations like IFSM, IFE, or IFPO.
* Accreditation by UKAS organisations and presence on fire risk assessors' registers (e.g., IFSM NAFRAR Tier-3).
* Two self-authored recent (<12 months) reports on complex premises fire safety assessments.
* Demonstrable CPD records for the past two years.
