The Team:
The Pathology Department is located within the Launceston General Hospital. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
The Role:
In accordance with conventional practices, methods and standards, the Technical Officer provides support to pathologists and scientists for the efficient operation of the Pathology Department. The Technical Officer ensures prescribed procedures and techniques are applied when performing routine and specialised tests. Under general guidance from laboratory supervisors, Technical Officers perform technical work in one or more sections of the Pathology Department.
Details of appointment:
Permanent, part time, shift worker position, working up to 61 hours per fortnight, commencing from 27 January 2025. *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Salary: $73,811 to $79,779 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
Allowances:

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
* An associate Diploma from a recognised tertiary institution, or an equivalent qualification, appropriate to the nature of the work.
* Current Driver’s Licence.
*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change.
