Kingston Barnes is recruiting for a Workshop Manager on behalf of our client in the Sheffield area. Our client is a market leader in industrial automated solutions and due to growth, they are looking for an experienced workshop manager to assist with the management of projects, procurement and lead the workshop team.
About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Workshop Manager to join their team in Sheffield. You will work closely with other Workshop Managers located in Dorset and liaise between projects, procurement, and teams to ensure seamless project execution. Your role will be pivotal in overseeing daily workshop operations, ensuring quality control, and maintaining efficiency across all processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of technicians and engineers.
2. Project Coordination: Oversee workshop activities, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met.
3. Resource Management: Maintain and optimize tools, equipment, and materials.
4. Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures and address issues efficiently.
5. Safety Compliance: Enforce health & safety protocols and conduct risk assessments.
6. Workflow Optimization: Streamline processes to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
7. Stakeholder Communication: Work closely with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
8. Training & Development: Mentor and develop team members.
9. Documentation & Compliance: Maintain technical documentation, build logs, risk assessments, and standard operating procedures.
10. Onsite Work: Occasionally travel to customer sites (as required by projects).
About You
Proven experience leading a team in a workshop or engineering setting. Strong mechanical or engineering background. Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks. Positive, problem-solving mindset with strong collaboration skills. Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal, English). Full UK Driving License.
Package
Salary between £36,000 - £46,000 depending on experience.
