In line with Matalan’s strategy of putting our customers at the heart of everything we do and in line with our ambition to be the 1st choice for value for Matalan families, you will take responsibility for an area of brands across both Dropship & Concessions working on brand frameworks to shape size of range and budget by brand.
Trend and sale insight:
1. Assess the effectiveness of product selections and merchandising strategies through the analysis of sales data and KPIs, to support the forward planning of robust and profitable ranges & KPIs which you will be responsible for.
2. Conduct regular market research to identify opportunities for new products, pricing adjustments, and promotional strategies.
3. Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and consumer behaviour to inform trading decisions.
Brand Management:
1. Build and maintain good working relationships with external brands.
2. Attend regular trade meetings in person and virtually, collating trade & performance information to confidently present back with any SLA issues that have been flagged.
3. Plan and manage promotional activity in line with the sales plan & trading calendar, ensuring smooth and accurate price upload process in line with the critical path.
4. Manage the launch and exit process of new and existing brands.
Inventory Management:
1. Monitor and manage product availability to ensure full range availability online, utilising systems such as BI, Ecom reporting & Mirakl.
2. Manage the full E2E process to set up dropship products and concessions, supporting suppliers in any issues they may experience, troubleshooting and escalating where required.
Stakeholder management:
1. Create good working relationships with Ecom, Marketing, Retail, Customer Services and Finance teams, to ensure alignment across Matalan on the E2E process.
People Leadership:
1. Lead, engage and retain colleagues to create a high performing team culture.
2. Act as a role model for personal growth whilst supporting and encouraging career development and progression.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Successfully held an Assistant Merchandiser role with a passion for brands.
2. Ability to think commercially.
3. Strong analytical skills.
4. Experience of development & coaching.
5. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels.
6. Experience of working with Dropship and Concession set up programmes.
