We are seeking 1 talented Procurement Category Manager to oversee our strategic sourcing and procurement activities: Category Manager - Professional Services, ICT, Energy, Fleet and Transport This is an exciting opportunity to oversee and lead the procurements covering all areas for the city and to produce creative and innovative strategies to deliver against corporate agendas. The post will be responsible for managing complex categories, supporting the development of the procurement strategy, and driving the category strategy through the procurement function. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing procurement processes, be knowledgeable within the category area, be aware of the current changes in legislation, category management, and creating supplier and stakeholder relationships. Responsibilities Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies to drive cost savings and operational efficiencies. Lead cross-functional teams to identify procurement needs and develop category plans. Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks within assigned categories. Manage supplier and stakeholder relationships to drive performance improvements and resolve issues. Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to inform procurement strategies. Requirements Significant experience in public sector procurement. Proven track record of successfully managing procurement of all sizes. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make strategic decisions. Knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and supplier relationship management best practices.
