Job overview
There is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a supportive Physiotherapy team at UHDB, working as part of the Trauma and Orthopaedic Therapy Team at the Royal Derby Hospital.
You will work as part of the multidisciplinary team to ensure a high quality of service for patients during the inpatient phase of their recovery on each of the following wards:
* Multi Trauma Ward
* Fractured Neck of Femur Ward
* Spinal Ward
* Elective Wards
* Daycase Unit
* Derby Private Health Ward
* Orthopaedic Outpatients
You will be part of a well-established inpatient therapy team that pledges to always offer a helping hand to assist you on your career journey. We provide a welcoming environment and will support your development with access to a wealth of training, supervision, and personal development opportunities. There is also a comprehensive programme of preceptorship for newly qualified staff.
Main duties of the job
* To cover all wards within the Trauma and Orthopaedic footprint at RDH.
* To work various shift patterns according to specialty service needs, over seven days a week.
* To carry clinical caseloads and contribute to service delivery.
* To participate in a well-established programme supporting your career pathway and personal development.
* To perform physiotherapy assessments of patients with diverse presentations.
* To deliver physiotherapy treatment programmes.
* To hold own clinical caseload and be responsible for a defined area of service.
* To work autonomously alongside assistant therapy assistants and delegating in line with clinical competencies.
* To contribute to the training and supervision of Therapy Support Workers and more junior staff.
* To aid in the delivery of the work experience service.
* To undertake specific tasks as delegated by the senior staff.

Experience
* Keen interest in Trauma and Orthopaedics.
* Experience working in Outpatients and Acute Inpatients environment.
* Evidence of working in Trauma and Orthopaedics in post-graduate band 5 rotations.
* Good all-round junior post-graduate experience.
* Evidence of working within the care setting outside of placements.
* Currently working as a physiotherapist.
* Evidence of experience in MSK, Neuro, and respiratory.
Skills
* Concise written documentation with appropriate information.
* Evidence of being able to communicate with different people and in different situations.
* Evidence of working as part of a team.
* Evidence of being able to time manage.
* Evidence of computer skills - Word, Excel etc.
