WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
To become a Technician in our Construction department, we need someone who has experience in industry and is capable of working both independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will have the chance to acquire new skills and develop their abilities in a wide range of activities.
Although this position is centred on our Redditch campus, all applicants must be prepared to travel to our other campuses or surrounding areas as required.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
In summary, as someone who has relevant industrial experience, you will support in many aspects. To name a few:
1. Assisting and maintaining the day-to-day operations within the construction/building services workshops.
2. Cleaning and routine maintenance of workshop equipment.
3. Maintenance of safety equipment and procedures.
4. Assist teaching staff in teaching aids and demonstration techniques.
5. Undertake supervision and delivery of pre-planned practical sessions where required for cover.
6. The supervision of training as required.
7. Set up and return of workshop equipment.
8. Ordering materials.
9. Stock control.
10. Health & Safety (Risk assessments, COSHH report).
11. Support with open days and events.
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. To commit to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
2. To participate in the College’s Performance Management Scheme and attend necessary training events.
3. To continually improve teaching, learning, and assessment through proactive CPD and sharing best practice.
4. To actively participate in the College’s Quality System, including quality improvement strategies and initiatives.
5. To undertake such other duties as may be assigned commensurate with the grade and purpose of the post.
6. To take reasonable care for the health and safety of him/herself and for others affected by his/her work.
7. To actively support College Safeguarding, Equality, and Diversity policies.
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE:
The appointment is subject to the Conditions of Service for Business Support Staff. All successful applicants will undergo the following checks:
1. Enhanced DBS
2. 2 x References, one of which must be your current or most recent employer.
3. Qualification validation check.
SALARY: The salary range for this post is from £23,194 to £25,340 per annum. Your starting salary will be dependent upon your qualifications and experience.
