Area Sales Manager required for my client, a global leader in the design and manufacture of high value capital equipment for a range of sectors.
Joining a well established team with territories across the UK and Europe you will be responsible for developing sales including the end to end initiation through to completion of the sale, and the ongoing after sales support of that customer.
The candidate will ideally be within commutable distance to their HQ in the West Midlands and be prepared to travel regularly across the UK and Europe. The base salary for the role is around 40k with a realistic OTE circa 60-80k and potential to earn higher with an uncapped commission scheme. There is also a company bonus scheme and car allowance in addition.
Key Responsibilities of the Area Sales Manager:
Seek and develop new customers to generate sales.
Maintain existing customers and generate sales.
Visit Customers to discuss potential requirements and enhance their understanding of our products and how we can help to develop and solve their business needs.
To be the main point of contact for customers requiring product information.
Organise own diary to accommodate customer meetings.
Receive specifications and prepare quotations.
Manage the sales negotiation process.
Follow up on Customer orders to ensure on-time delivery.
Produce and issue internal contract documentation.
Produce quotation and proposal documentation ensuring accuracy of the document prior to submission.
Build close relationship with the customer to maintain after sales support.
Work collaboratively with internal Engineering team to ensure effective service to the customer.
Experience and Skills of the Area Sales Manager:
Formal engineering qualification would be desirable.
Capital equipment sales experience and strong project management capability to handle projects up to and in excess of £1M.
Experienced proven Area Sales Manager.
Consultative sales skills.
Ability to develop long term relationships.
Ability to read engineering layout drawings.
Results orientated.
Good attention to detail.
Well organised.
