We now have exciting permanent opportunities for a motivated and suitably qualified Construction Piping Engineer to join our Technical Communities based in the South West of England. Join us and be part of making a valuable contribution to the mega-infrastructure, Nuclear New Build project at Hinkley Point C (HPC).
Responsibilities:
1. Managing the Contract Engineering Lead activities for the installation contract related to Balance of Nuclear Island piping construction activities.
2. Writing technical specifications for erection activities.
3. Updating the List of Documents Required from the Contractor (LDRC) and Surveillance Plan for BNI scope.
4. Answering Technical Queries.
5. Resolving construction Open Points.
6. Coordinating the answer to Exemption Requests.
7. Reviewing deliverables from the Erection Contractors to support readiness of site erection activities.
8. Reviewing installation specifications.
9. Supporting the Contract Engineering Lead (CEL) to manage Early Warnings.
10. Assisting construction Project Managers in establishing Key Performance Indicators to report site progress for construction activities.
11. Providing technical support/expertise to ensure site construction activities are executed without blockers to delivery, addressing all open points/technical queries raised by the construction contractor.
12. Coordinating interface with Front Office teams for answers provided for Field Change Requests/Non-Conformances from site.
13. Ensuring integration of post-construction activities (completion team) into the construction sequence.
14. Coordinating all engineering activities to support construction sequence, including identifying and implementing improvements to processes and ways of working.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
1. A relevant degree in engineering or science; if relevant, you should have achieved or be working towards chartership in that discipline.
2. Piping-Mechanical installation and piping design experience.
3. Detailed understanding of Nuclear Pressurised Water Reactor (PWR) design and experience in PWR operations.
4. Good knowledge of CDM Regulations.
5. On-site experience in a highly regulated environment.
6. Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively influence diverse stakeholders.
