Role: Events Officer
Location: Chorley and South Ribble
Contract: Full time (36.25 hours per week) / Permanent
Salary: £30,559 - £32,654
Closing Date: 9 March 2025
We are committed to delivering an exciting events programme that attracts residents and visitors and provides a boost to the local economy of our districts. We are looking for a dynamic and proactive Events Officer to become a key part of our team and contribute to our success.
What you’ll be getting up to:
* You’ll get to work on some amazing events from Chorley Flower Show to Music in the Park, Chorley and South Ribble Live, a Taste of Leyland, Christmas light switch ons and many more.
* You will event manage a number of exciting events each year, coming up with new ideas, developing event management plans and risk assessments, organising staffing and overseeing events on the day.
* You will work within a vibrant, energetic team who work hard to deliver our extensive events programme for both Chorley and South Ribble.
* You will work with the councils’ Communications and Marketing team to promote our events to maximise attendance and ticket sales.
* You will ensure events are delivered to budget, handling orders and invoices promptly.
Who we’re looking for:

* Has a passion for events and live entertainment.
* Has experience in planning and managing events.
* Has knowledge of best practice and legislation needed to run events effectively and safely.
* Delivers an excellent level of customer service.
* Is a great problem solver.
* Is able to create and maintain excellent relationships.
Other requirements:
* This role requires some travel around our boroughs. You should have a valid driving license or the equivalent mobility.
* This role requires out of hours evening and weekend work at events throughout the year.
