Job summary We are the Little Explorers Day Nursery, based within the grounds of Queens Hospital Romford, in a purpose built Nursery building. The Day Nursery operates Monday to Friday between 7am to 6pm, not at weekends or an Bank Holidays. We are looking to recruit an experienced Nursery Practitioner for our Day Nursery, to be integral in terms of working with our established team, with our Parents and with our children. You will be able to work across the age range of 3 months and 5 years as you may be required to cover where necessary but as much as possible you will be based in one area of the Day Nursery. You will be keen, enthusiastic, want to bring new ideas and suggestions and to have the will to increase our Day Nursery rating from 'Good' to 'Outstanding'. You will be able to use Tapestry, our Day Nursery educational platform, and also to observe keychildren, to plan for them, to evaluate and plan the next steps for their development. You will act as a keyperson to a group of children and to liaise closely with Parents. Experience of SEN is also required for this Day Nursery as you may be required to work with external agencies for the best outcomes for our children. As much as possible you will be required to know of DSL, have a sound knowledge of Safeguarding, PREVENT, FGM as well as other essential knowledge. Main duties of the job To work as part of a team to create a happy, safe and stimulated environment for all children, aged up to 5 years of age and to meet the individual needs of the child. To support the children in all areas of their development, including children with Special Educational Needs, in line with The Early Years Foundation Stage and plan accordingly. To have specific keyworker responsibilities which include compiling progress reports, record keeping and maintaining parent partnerships.
