About the role
Painting and prepping of Motor vehicles
Key responsibilities
* Ensure customer satisfaction in the repair and painting of motor vehicles of all types.
* Carry out such work in a safe and economical manner.
* Observe, recognise and report on vehicle structure and paintwork.
* Interpret and implement technical instruction data.
* Indent for replacement parts and record usage.
* Accurately use paint mixing schemes and drying areas/equipment.
* Ensure that vehicles comply with safety standards when returned to customers, or that faults have been reported and noted on job card.
* Attain manufacturers' and/or estimated repair/paint times.
* Report all faults, defects noticed whilst working on vehicles.
* Take care of equipment, special tools and personal tools.
* Accurately report all components, materials and consumables used.
* Safeguard the customers' vehicle and contents whilst being repaired.
* Ensure that all work carried out meets acceptable safety and quality standards.
* Company repair/paint times to be achieved.
* Hours, components, materials and consumables used recorded.
* Wastage of materials not to exceed target set by Manager for period.
* No customer vehicle or contents to be damaged/lost while vehicles under repair.
* Assigned apprentice to have completed training schedule for day/week.

Skills and experience
* ATA / NVQ level 3 Paint Technician.
* Good Communication skills.
* Good Decision Making/Problem solving skills.
* Good H&S knowledge/awareness and compliance.
* Time served repair technician.
* Good time management skills
* Relevant industry experience
