We are looking for highly motivated and capable individuals to join our team as IT Services Assistant.
The team provides support to the trust and department ordering hardware and software, maintaining equipment inventories, decommissioning of hardware and processing starters and leavers as well as administrative support to the wider department. Strong communication skills and excellent customer service are essential.
We are a fast-paced department so the ideal candidate needs to be confident, be a fast learner and have the ability to work under pressure. You will need to be able to communicate well and work as part of a larger team, but also have the ability to work alone.
Main duties of the job
To assist the wider ICT Department in providing a range of IT services to staff working within the Trust by ensuring a prompt and efficient response to requests, fulfilling requests and resolving issues quickly and efficiently, maintaining good communication at all times, and maintaining a good level of technical knowledge.
Working as part of an expanding team based at South Tyneside District Hospital working 8.30 to 5.00 Monday to Friday.

* Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to build a team and to motivate staff.
* May from time to time work outside of normal business hours.
Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE (Level A-C).
* NVQ 3 Level 3 or equivalent skills and experience.
* Demonstrable experience of Microsoft packages such as Word/Excel.
* Evidence of study in an ICT related field or equivalent experience.
Knowledge & Skills
* Knowledge of ordering and procurement, keeping financial records, and asset management.
* Knowledge of issues relating to customer services and meeting service level agreements.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with staff at all levels of the organisation, and across multi-agency boundaries.
* Knowledge of the requirements for confidentiality and information governance when dealing with personal information.
* Effective time management & organisational skills.
* Ability to communicate information in an understandable way adapting communication style to meet the needs of the recipient.
* Experience of Microsoft packages such as Word/Excel.
* Ability to communicate messages and instructions accurately to colleagues, both verbally and in writing.
* Willing to undertake further training related to role.
* Knowledge of a range of computer systems, hardware, and software.
* Knowledge of system administration procedures, such as user set-up, password administration, setting of parameters, system security, etc.
Experience
* Experience of ordering, administration, and asset management.
* Knowledge gained through experience within an NHS setting.
* Experience as a member of an information department team.
* Relevant experience of providing ICT support within a large organisation.
