The role offers a competitive salary of £31,750 per annum dependent on experience.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in creating and refining design concepts for offshore substations and wind turbine components using engineering tools such as Sesam suite and Ansys, or similar software.
2. Produce detailed drawings and schematics under the guidance of others.
3. Conduct basic calculations, simulations, and analyses to validate design proposals and ensure compliance with engineering standards.
4. Support the preparation of design documentation, reports, and technical specifications.
5. Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including structural engineers, to contribute to project deliverables.
6. Participate in design reviews, team meetings, and project planning sessions to gain insights and contribute ideas.
7. Create project management documentation under supervision of others.
8. Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements in the offshore wind energy sector.
9. Assist in identifying opportunities for innovation and improvements in design processes.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) from an accredited institution or a Master’s degree or coursework in renewable energy systems, offshore engineering, or a related area is a plus.
2. Basic knowledge of engineering design software (e.g. Sesam suite and Ansys or equivalent).
3. Familiarity with industry standards such as IEC and DNV is an advantage.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Additional Information:
This role will be based in either London or Bristol. SLPE currently operates on a hybrid working basis, with staff typically expected to attend the office a minimum of 3 days per week. For a Bristol-based candidate, regular travel to SLPE’s main office in central London will be required, for which expenses will be reimbursed.
