Technical Trainee Roles
NEP UK have a thrilling opportunity for three Technical Trainee roles to go behind the scenes as part of a work placement at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships this summer!
We are looking for candidates to join us for up to 15 days from the 9th – 27th June 2025 for the Rig, and/or from the 30th June to the 13th July for the transmission!
We are seeking professional and confident communicators who have a passion for Outside Broadcasting. Positive interpersonal skills are essential as you will be working alongside engineering and production crews, as well as on-air talent.
Successful candidates will gain valuable real-life experience working in Sound, Vision, Ingest and Cameras on a prestigious OB production. Trainees will have the opportunity to develop a broader understanding and appreciation of the intricacies of creating television.
You will have the opportunity to work with and learn from experienced professionals such as:
* Senior Engineers – Engineers in charge of the systems and teams of engineers
* Vision Engineers – Learn about fundamental vision equipment, fault finding and racking skills
* Sound Engineers – Learn about fundamental audio equipment, fault finding/testing and communication skills.
* Sound Supervisors – Learn how to approach mic placement and levels for sport mixing.
* Edit & Ingest Engineers – Learn about Replay, media storage and logging systems
* Camera Operators – Learn different camera equipment and operating practices.
* Tech Management and Coordinators – Learn how large scale events are planned and coordinated
This position is open to all applicants 18 years and older who are interested in working on-site with NEP come rain or shine between 9th June and 13th July 2024. NEP will cover expenses up to £100 per day which includes travel to site and subsistence. There is no parking available onsite; successful candidates must be able to travel to and from site by public transport.
