Job overview
We are seeking to recruit an outstanding Head of Mathematics to join our team. The successful candidate must be talented and committed, with the personality, skills and drive necessary to inspire our students and have the ability to deliver engaging lessons of the highest quality. A Recruitment & Retention Allowance of £2000 is available for the successful candidate.
In February 2020 our school was rated as ‘good’ in all areas by Ofsted, who praised our teachers’ good subject knowledge and enthusiasm as well as strong leadership and a commitment to improving children’s lives.
Our students are ready to learn and our desire for them to succeed is at the heart of everything we do. If you believe you can help to develop their mathematical skills and confidence to new levels then we would like to hear from you. The successful applicant will be an excellent classroom practitioner committed to achieving the very best outcomes, able to create an engaging learning environment, passionate about teaching and learning, and able to contribute to the development of the department.
In return you will find a thriving school community and a welcoming environment where your skills will be valued and you will receive high quality professional development opportunities and effective induction. The Mathematics Department is well organised and resourced, with a clear curriculum to guide learners through their seven year journey here. You will receive superb support from the Director of Maths and Senior Leadership Team, with resources and planning available to enable you to quickly settle in and deliver high quality learning. Regular department time and shared planning enables consistency and a strong team ethic, and there would be opportunities for further responsibility in the form of assistant head of department for the right candidate.
These are exciting times for Aylesford School where results are rising and where we are developing a world class learning environment that our young people tell us they are proud to be a part of.
The position is a full-time one, however flexible working hours will be considered.
Applications will be considered individually upon receipt.
We know it is difficult to make a decision about a school from an advertisement, and so would love to invite you to visit our school and meet the students and team. Please contact the school to book a visit.
