We are looking for a bright, hardworking and reliable Assistant Manager to oversee the day to night running of the venue ideally with at least 6 months duty manager experience. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Logistics, Ordering and Planning To remain up to date with latest hospitality trends. To work with the operations manager on the annual bar targets. Performance manage and set objectives and incentives for bar staff. Lead on all bar training for staff, including cocktails, beers and wines. Help organise and adjust staff rotas and schedules. Help order and monitor supplies – placing weekly orders. Receiving and checking deliveries, storing documentation appropriately. Standards Monitor cleanliness and hygiene of the bar to a 5-star standard. Promote and practice compliance with fire, health, food and drinks safety and hygiene standards and regulations. Ensure minimal wastage of stock through rotation and storage. Ensure effective and accurate stock control procedures. Ensure staff hold appropriate training qualifications and staffing records are kept up to date, including details on licensing. Ensure staff operate within company policies. Set and monitor quality and service standards for staff. Implement relevant legislation regarding the service of alcohol. Ensure cellar, lines and glassware are pristine and equipment is serviced. Essential Experience/Skills Be passionate about Bristol's vibrant hospitality sector. Be up to date on the latest hospitality trends. Be able to deliver high-quality service in a commercial bar setting, leading a large bar and front-of-house team. Personal license holder and cellar management training are beneficial. This is a full-time position - up to 40 hours per week. Working hours/days – a mix of daytime and evening/night shifts including weekends. You may be expected to work additional hours. Pay is a sliding scale and will go up in 3 months and again after a year. All wages are increased annually in line with minimum wage increases set by the government.
