They're the values that make us LNER. What you'll be doing Reporting to the Asset & Facilities Manager, you'll provide technical and professional support to the Property and wider LNER teams. You will also play a key role in informing the asset intervention strategy for LNER. There are two roles available, one for the North and one for the South of the route. As LNER's Asset Engineer for the North you'll be responsible for the full LNER property asset inspection regime covering the following stations: Edinburgh, Berwick, Newcastle, Durham, Darlington and Wakefield. As LNER's Asset Engineer for the South you'll be responsible for the full LNER property asset inspection regime covering the following stations: York, Doncaster, Retford, Newark, Grantham and Peterborough. There may be the requirement for occasional visits to other LNER accommodation and to cover for your opposite Asset Engineer from time to time. The roles will be based in Newcastle/York with the requirement to travel across the route as necessary These pivotal roles will require a keen eye for detail, strong project management skills and an in-depth knowledge of buildings construction, civil engineering, and construction management. Your key responsibilities will include: Managing and enhancing the Station Asset Management Policy and Integrated Station Asset Plan. Developing and maintaining the Station Asset Maintenance Policy and Station Asset Maintenance Plan. Managing, monitoring, and reporting on specific activities within the Asset Team's revenue business plan. Leading the preparation of Asset Management-related documentation, including policies, strategies, and lifecycle plans for adoption by LNER. Consulting with sub-contractors / suppliers to co-ordinate appropriate service delivery, including the preparation of quotation and/or tender documents as necessary. Complying with appropriate Health and Safety Risk Assessments and Method Statements and to actively monitor the health and safety performance of Supply Chain Partners in compliance with all relevant processes and procedures including the published Safety Management Systems (SMS) document/s What you'll need. To be an experienced Qualified Asset Engineer with an IOSH qualification Proven experience in a related or similar post To be a committed and ambitious engineer who can demonstrate strong leadership and people skills combined with commercial awareness and the ability to play your part in growing a dynamic high-performance team. Possess Knowledge of buildings construction, civil engineering and construction management processes, systems and standards. Knowledge of Construction, Design and Management Regulations. To be able to demonstrate, promote and embed safe working behaviours within the team and external supply chain. Have a versatile approach, with a solid knowledge of managing multi-site operations, production and delivery of comprehensive and compliant programmes. Motivational leadership qualities and a strong collaborator as you will be collaborating with your regional colleague, supporting each other when needed. Experience in delivering all areas of facilities management, projects and estate management practices and strategy. Be an Effective negotiator, coupled with the ability to communicate at senior levels. Have an enthusiastic approach to a customer focused organisation and a culture of employee engagement with experience of team leadership and development.
