Sr. Mechanical Engineer
We are looking for a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to join our Christchurch Team! As our Sr. Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for:
1. Designing and analysing moderately complex mechanical systems, equipment and packaging.
2. Conducting feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs.
3. Directing support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication.
4. Providing design information to drafting for packaging documentation.
Location: Christchurch, UK
Your Challenge:
Using Solidworks & Flow Simulation for electro-mechanical packaging.
Configuration/ERP management using Solidworks PDM & Syteline.
Designing to meet MIL-STD-810, DO160 qualification standards.
Product life cycle development from concept design through to obsolescence management.
Liaising with internal/external stakeholders i.e., Production, QA, Suppliers.
Providing technical support to failure investigations and creating formal reports.
Providing clear guidance to the engineering team and assure that design solution processes are airworthy.
What You Bring:
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• At least 5 years experience in electro-mechanical design within an aerospace / automotive / medical / safety-critical environment.
• Demonstrated high performance and achievement in leadership and management of engineering teams through a full product development life cycle (including system design, development, integration, test, verification).
• Familiar with small Microprocessor and microcontroller systems.
• Familiar with design for manufacture principles.
