Community Wellbeing North Canterbury Trust (CWNCT) provides free social services to whānau and tamariki across the largely rural area of North Canterbury (Waimakariri and Hurunui Districts). Its proud history of flexible, responsive, high-quality service provision spans 35 years.
The Trust currently provides a range of over 13 impactful services that empower people to meet life’s challenges in an increasingly challenging environment. Funding for these services is a combination of Government funding contracts, philanthropic grants, sponsorships, business and community partnerships, and donations.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Fundraising and Communications Lead is responsible for developing and executing effective fundraising strategies. The role ensures clear and impactful communication of the organization’s mission and diverse community wellbeing programmes. This role is a key member of a small and talented leadership team engaging with donors, sponsors, community and business partners, and philanthropic grant givers to increase funding and enhance the Trust's public profile.
We are seeking a Fundraising & Communications Lead who has:
* A proven track record of successfully developing and implementing fundraising campaigns and securing a range of funding sources.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presenting to diverse audiences.
* Strong organisational and project coordination skills to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously.
* A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in fundraising and communications, preferably within the nonprofit/charitable sector.
* Previous experience working in a values-driven community services organisation or a social enterprise is preferred but not essential.
* A Tertiary qualification in communications, journalism, marketing, nonprofit management, public relations, or a related field.
* Experience writing grant applications and sponsorship proposals that include compelling messaging and storytelling.
