Main duties of the job The successful post holder will be expected to be able to work in a small team within the Emergency Department, having close links to the Paediatric Unit, Resuscitation Service, Safeguarding Teams and Medical Staffing. As a Paediatric Staff Nurse you will ensure that you work towards providing our children and young persons with a safe, effective and efficient service. You will be under the direct supervision of a band 7 Senior Sister and team of experienced Clinical Sister's. You will require skills in safe assessment of children, using an ABCDE approach, be able to administer treatments and medications as prescribed. In addition, you will be expected to assist senior staff in audits, help with CSW teaching sessions and mentor students. You would need to keep up to date with research and new guidance and would be actively encouraged to bring new ideas to the department.
