We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly and forward-thinking Practice.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced practice Nurse working in general practice who has the commitment to deliver an exceptional patient/clinician experience within a professional environment.
You will be working closely with the team to achieve the highest level of care towards our patients.
We are a busy practice and the ideal candidate would need to be flexible, versatile and up for a challenge.
On a rota basis there would be an expectation to work 7am starts, 8pm finishes, and the occasional Saturday to support the practice in their commitment to GP extended access services and seasonal events.
A driving licence and access to your own vehicle would be a necessity.
Main duties of the job
* Experience in all areas of General practice nursing and a willingness to learn new things
* Experienced Practice nurse - Full time / Part Time hours and a job share would all be considered
* Diabetes reviews and management
* Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs
* Cytology
* Removal of Sutures
* ECGs
* Asthma/Peak Flow Readings/Spirometry
* Venepuncture
* Ear syringing
* Routine immunizations/Childhood immunisations
* Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician
* Learning Disabilities
* Assisting GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings
* Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
* Coronary Heart Disease and Contraception
* Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate

We are a well-established GP practice situated in Sutton In Ashfield.
Our Practice consists of 5 GP partners and 2 salaried GPs. We are also an approved training practice and have a full complement of Junior Doctors.
The GPs are supported by a team of practice nurses, HCAs, a phlebotomist, and a full administration team including a practice manager and Assistant practice manager.

Job responsibilities
* Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs
* Cytology
* Removal of Sutures
* ECGs
* Asthma/Peak Flow Readings/Spirometry
* Venepuncture
* Ear syringing
* Routine immunizations/Childhood immunisations
* Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician
* Assisting GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings
* Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
* Interest in Coronary Heart Disease and Contraception
* Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate
* Other tasks will include
* Clean and sterilise equipment using autoclave monitoring
* Maintaining and cleaning equipment used by the nurses and GPs
* Maintaining GP and Nurses rooms, stocking, and rotating items as required
* Maintaining general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms
* Maintain stock of waiting room leaflets as instructed by partners and Practice Manager
* Ordering of Health Promotion Literature
* Ordering of vaccinations to maintain stock levels
* Participation in administrative systems in the Practice
* At all times there will be a need to maintain accurate records
* A duty to advise senior nurses of potential problems or errors within a range of assigned tasks
* Attend and participate in any Practice meetings when required
* On occasion there may be a requirement to undertake home visits
* Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post

* RGN - Registered General Nurse Qualification
* Chronic disease management
* Qualified in Phlebotomy
