The successful candidate will be someone who can rise to the challenges of Billingham Forum, Tees Active’s flagship facility, and take ongoing responsibility for overseeing the complex programming, marketing, technical, service and team aspects of the centre’s operations.

THE LOCATION
Billingham Forum is one of the most iconic leisure destinations in the North East. The facility boasts: 3 swimming pools (with seating for 330 spectators), a state-of-the-art gym, Sauna and Steam Suite, fitness studios, meeting rooms, sports hall, squash courts, Go Climb (a 24-module interactive wall climbing experience) and the second best Ice Arena in the country (with seating for 770 spectators). The centre is also home to various franchise treatment rooms, catering, vending and bar facilities and an ice-skating retail outlet.
THE ROLE
This is a key role which will help build upon the continued success of this unique centre, which has over one million visitors per annum.
You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of excellent customer service and the smooth running of the centre’s activities and programme with the centre’s team via effective supervision and leadership. You will work closely with the centre’s General Manager to monitor performance and to seek to identify and maximise commercial opportunities.
The role is predominantly Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.00pm, but you will be expected to periodically work evenings and weekends under special circumstances and to support special events.
We are committed to safeguarding and therefore the Deputy General Manager post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
ABOUT YOU

You will have a proven and successful track record in:
* Leisure related facilities management
* Driving and delivering commercial performance
* Producing innovative, original and creative ideas
* Experience of developing business opportunities and producing business plans
* Project management and programme development
* Promoting and delivering a positive customer experience
* Initiating and managing change
* Leading and managing a team
You must also have:
* Positive attitude and the ability to enthuse and motivate a team
* High levels of self-motivation, interpersonal and communication skills
* Excellent organisational and influencing skills
* Excellent IT, literacy and numeracy skills
* Experience of working with governing bodies and identifying opportunities for new funding streams
* A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes
