1:1 SEMH Support Assistant – The Wirral
Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a specialist provision in The Wirral to recruit a 1:1 SEMH Support Assistant. This role requires someone who can travel to The Wirral and has experience in the care, support, or education sector, though this is not essential.
The Role:
As a 1:1 SEMH Support Assistant, you will be supporting an individual pupil who requires extra help with their learning and development. The provision caters to students aged 5-18 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, all of whom have an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP). Your role will involve following the pupil’s EHCP and ensuring their needs are prioritised.
Due to the nature of the setting, some students may display challenging behaviour. You must be able to manage high-pressure situations calmly and professionally, always prioritising the wellbeing of the pupil.
* Full-time role, Monday – Friday
* Experience in care, support, or education is desirable but not essential
* No formal qualifications required
* Must be able to travel to and from The Wirral daily

This specialist provision supports students aged 5-18 with SEMH needs, focusing on both their academic and personal development. Staff are trained to safeguard and support each pupil’s wellbeing while ensuring that individual needs are met in line with the provision’s policies.

The school follows a broad and balanced curriculum, incorporating core subjects such as English, Science, and ICT, alongside a wide range of foundation subjects and vocational learning opportunities tailored to each key stage.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
